If you acquired legal residence by marrying a U.S. Citizen, you can apply for citizenship after 3 years. If you acquired legal residence by the regular process, you can apply for citizenship after 5 years. CAUTION: Before applying for citizenship, please call our office for advice and to discuss the implications of filing an application for citizenship.
