Quality Education
For the past 25 years, Legal Aid Society has represented hispanic families and youth in
a lawsuit against the San Jose Unified School District to obtain equal access to quality
education for all students in the district. The case has evolved from a desegregation and
busing case to the current focus on neighborhood schools with sufficient allocation of
resources and proper procedures to ensure quality education for all students regardless of
race or economic status.
